Pennington, NJ…Members of The College of New Jersey football and women’s lacrosse teams helped students at the Stony Brook Elementary School celebrate Dr. Seuss’ birthday by participating in annual Read Across America.
TCNJ’s student-athletes visited the school in the Hopewell Valley Regional School District and read to students in various classes, including several Dr. Seuss books in honor of the author’s birthday.
The purpose of the program is motivating children to read as an important factor in student achievement and creating lifelong successful readers.
The annual event is sponsored by the National Education Association.
