Orlando, FL...The College of New Jersey women's tennis team saw its seven-match winning streak come to an end as the Lions fell to Emory University by the score of 8-1 on Monday in Florida.
The women’s loss was the first of the season for the Lions as they slipped to 7-1 on the year. The match with Emory was a showdown of nationally-ranked programs as the Eagles are second in the latest ITA Division III poll and TCNJ is 22nd.
Freshman Lauren Balsamo (Wall Township, NJ/Wall) netted a win for the Lions at sixth singles as she posted a 6-3, 7-5 victory.
The Lions close out their spring trip with another tough match on Tuesday taking on 26th-ranked Coe College.
