Ewing, NJ...The College of New Jersey field hockey team is ranked 17th in the 2010 Kookaburra/National Field Hockey Coaches Division III preseason poll as the Lions collected 248 points.

TCNJ will see plenty of teams ranked in the top 20 with nine of those teams on the schedule. The Lions open at home on Wednesday, September 1 hosting 18th-ranked Stevens Institute of Technology in a 7:30 p.m. start. Other ranked opponents on the schedule include top-ranked Salisbury University, second-ranked Messiah College, third ranked Ursinus College, fifth-ranked SUNY Cortland, ninth-ranked Rowan University, 15th-ranked Johns Hopkins University, 16th-ranked Juniata College, and 19th-ranked Eastern University.

The Lions are coming off of a 9-6 season and went 5-1 in New Jersey Athletic Conference play.
