Hamilton, NJ ... Members of The College of New Jersey football team visited Lalor Elementary School in Hamilton Township to encourage students that reading is a powerful resource that offers knowledge and entertainment.
The event was arranged by head coach Eric Hamilton in conjunction with a nation-wide celebration of Dr. Seuss' birthday. The birthday was created by the National Education Association to kick-start its annual Read Across America campaign.
The Lions' football players read to students in various classes, including several Dr. Seuss books in honor of the author's birthday. The purpose of the program is motivating children to read as an important factor in student achievement and creating lifelong successful readers.
