TCNJ athletes cited by NJAC for standout performances

Pitman, NJ... The College of New Jersey enjoyed its first full week of April by having five athletes honored by the New Jersey Athletic Conference.

The women's lacrosse team remained the top Division III program in the country with two wins, including an 11-6 win over second-ranked Salisbury University. Seniors Ali Jaeger (Hampton, NJ/North Hunterdon) and Mary Waller (Bel Air, MD/C. Milton Wright) were selected for their performances during the week.

Jaeger broke a pair of storied Lions' records becoming the all-time leading goal scorer and points leader in TCNJ program history. Waller contributed to a 17-0 shutout against Rutgers University-Camden and then stopped a career-best 16 shots in the victory of the Sea Gulls. Jaeger was cited NJAC Offensive Player of the Week while Waller earned Defense Player of the Week honors. Waller was also named ECAC Metro/South Defensive Player of the Week for the third time this season.

Senior Miriam Khan (Titusville, NJ/Hopewell Valley) took her first strides towards another great outdoor track season by placing first in the 100- and 200-meter events. She also contributed to a first-place finish in the 4x400 relay. Khan was named NJAC Women's Track Athlete of the Week for her efforts.

Senior Kyle Gilroy (Oak Ridge, NJ/West Milford Twp.) won the 110-meter hurdles, 400-meter hurdles, and also contributed to the 4x100 meter relay. For those marks he was named NJAC Male Track Athlete of the Week. Teammate Scott Lisa (Highland Lakes, NJ/Vernon) won the high jump event and also contributed to a third place finish in the 4x100 relay to earn Rookie of the Week honors.
