Hackettstown, NJ …The College of New Jersey wrestling team continued its unrelenting attack on opponents as they defeated Centenary College 32-6 on Friday night in Hackettstown, NJ.

The Lions raised their season record to 13-1, a mark they have not boasted since the 2010-2011 season. TCNJ charged to 18-1 that year before finishing its regular season at 19-2.

The first six bouts went to the Lions as they quickly built a 24-0 advantage over the Cyclones. Senior
Jimmy Gill (Smithtown, NY/St. John the Baptist) set the tone at 125 with a 13-4 major decision. Sophomore
James Goldschmidt (Marlton, NJ/Cherokee) was trailing 2-1 entering the third period, but a reversal combined with three minutes of riding time earned him a 3-2 decision.

Antonio Mancella (Mays Landing, NJ/Oakcrest) raised his dual meet record to 9-1 in 2015-16 when he registered a major decision, defeating Allan Jordan 12-4. It marked the 71
st career victory for Mancella.

Nick Herring (Middletown, NJ/Middletown South) stayed hot and moved to 12-1 in dual meets this season. He defeated D.J. Wagner at 165 by a score of 18-6. In an exciting match at 197, junior
Dan Wojtaszek (Brick, NJ/Brick Twp) flipped a 4-3 deficit entering the third period, ulimately winning the match with a takedown for a 6-5 triumph.

Next up for the Lions is the METRO/New England Duals in Bristol, RI. TCNJ squares off against Roger Williams in its first of three matches on the day. They will also face Bridgewater State University and Roger Williams University.
