Senior Night Insert

Ewing, NJ… The College of New Jersey wrestling team took eight of ten bouts on their way to a dominant 33-5 victory Friday night. The 19^th-ranked Lions improved to 15-4 on the season, while the Aggies fell to 7-10. TCNJ has won six straight dual meets.
 
Dan Ortega (North Bergen, NJ/North Bergen) got the Lions off to a quick start pinning his opponent just 1:51 into the bout. James Goldschmidt (Marlton, NJ/Cherokee) continued the momentum with a decisive 8-3 victory at 133.
 
Following an Aggie victory at 141, Eric Friedman (Chester, NJ/West Morris Mendham), JT Bierne (Fanwood, NJ/Scotch Plains Fanwood), Luke Balina (Long Branch, NJ/Long Branch), and Dan Kilroy (Wayne, NJ/Wayne Hills) recorded four straight wins. Friedman, Balina, and Kilroy each earned a bonus point in their bouts.
 
Pat Schinder (Forked River, NJ/Lacey) earned a decision victory at 197. Kyle Cocozza (Farmingdale, NJ/Howell) ended the night in style, pinning his opponent at the 1:46 mark of the first period.
 
Prior to the dual, the Lions honored their seven graduating senior members.
 
The Lions return to action tomorrow afternoon when they travel to 15^th-ranked Messiah College for a dual beginning at 12:00 PM.
