O’Connor garnered three All-American citations at the 2009 NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving Championships placing fifth in a pair of individual events. He set a school record in the 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:01.36 and had a time of 55.40 seconds in the 100 breast earning All-American honors in both. He was also part of the 200 medley relay team that finished 10th with a time of 1:32.40 to secure All-American Honorable Mention. As a team, the Lions placed 10th marking the second straight year they have placed in the top 10.
