Pierce won four events as the Lions defeated rival and NCAA Division II Southern Connecticut State University, 168-126. Pierce won the 100 butterfly (58.67) and the 50 freestyle (24.37) and 100 free (53.76), while being a member of the winning 200 medley relay team (1:51.37).
