O’Connor played a key role in the Lions winning the 2007 Metropolitan Conference as he was named the Male Rookie of the Meet. He was part of the winning 200 and 400 medley relay teams that also posted NCAA provisional times. He was also part of the second-place 200 freestyle relay and indivdually took second in the 200 breaststroke with another provisional time and eighth in the 50 free.
