Shangle placed third nationally in the 100-breast and also took fourth in the 200-breast. He set program records in each event, and also contributed to records in the 200- and 400-medley relays. In total, Shangle earned five All-American honors at the 2016 NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving National Championships.
