Matthew Michibata put forth a great weekend at the ITA Regionals. He advanced to the finals of the ITA Regionals, and in doing so qualified for the ITA Cup. Michibata became the first Lion to advance to the national tournament since 2007. He advanced to the finals with a 6-4, 6-4 victory over defending regional champion and number one seed Alan Dubrovsky of Hobart. He picked up a 6-2, 6-3 win in the quarterfinals over Jack McClaren of Skidmore. Michibata will have a chance to earn All-America honors next month at the ITA Cup, which will be held in Rome, Ga. starting on Oct. 17.
