Roman Rychkov ran the final leg in TCNJ's sprint medley victory in the Penn Relays. The victory marked the first for the TCNJ men's track & field sprint medley team at the legendary Penn Relays in over a decade.

Rychkov closed out the race strong for the Lions to capture first place. The Lions were third in the race at the midpoint, trailing Penn and St. Joseph's (Pa.). Late in the race, with Rychkov having passed the Hawk runner and fighting to the finish with the host school, the Quaker runner dropped the baton just steps from the finish line, allowing Rychkov to stop the clock at 3:28.26 and give TCNJ the victory. Justin Gomez, Tyler Scott, and Brett Schuett ran the opening three legs of the relay to set up the final sequence.
