Pomona, NJ... Amanda Altman (Beachwood/Toms River) scored her team-leading 10th goal of the season as Richard Stockton (13-2-1, 5-1) defeated The College of New Jersey (8-4-1, 3-2-1) 1-0 in double overtime to earn its fourth straight win.
Altman's goal came with 6:47 remaining in the second extra frame as she took advantage of a miscommunication between TCNJ keeper Jessica Clarke (Wayne/Wayne Valley) and a defender. Altman poked the ball past Clark and snuck the shot inside the right post to clinch the victory. Leah Pocoroba (Galloway/Holy Spirit) recorded her fourth assist of the season on the play.
Just 30 seconds earlier, TCNJ had its best scoring opportunity of the night as Coleen Weber (Mullica Hill/Clearview) sent a shot past Stockton keeper Alex Rogers (Medford/Shawnee), however Weber was denied by the right post.
Rogers made six saves during the game and recorded her eighth shutout on the season. Clarke tallied one save for TCNJ. The victory for Stockton was its first over The College of New Jersey since September 27, 2000. The Ospreys defeated the Lions 1-0 in that game and were 0-10-2 against TCNJ since then.
Up next for the Ospreys, they will travel to Montclair State on Saturday for an NJAC game at 6 pm. TCNJ will return home to face William Paterson in an NJAC match on Saturday at 11 am.
