Top-ranked Williams holds off TCNJ's upset bid, 2-1

Williamstown, MA… Top-ranked Williams College netted a pair of goals in the second half to erase a one-goal deficit as the Ephs spoiled The College of New Jersey women's soccer team's upset bid pulling out a 2-1 win on Saturday in the NCAA Division III Tournament.

The Lions finished the season with a mark of 14-7-1, while Williams remained unbeaten at 18-0-1.

After a scoreless opening half, the Lions netted the game's first goal 5:22 into the second half as senior Jamie Kunkel (Mt. Laurel, NJ/Lenape) collected her team-leading 11th goal of the season. That goal was assisted by classmate Coleen Weber (Mullica Hill, NJ/Clearview)

The hosts tied the game 13 minutes later and then took the lead with 11:16 remaining. 

Kunkel finishes her career one point shy of the 100 as she scored 38 goals and 23 assists during her standout career.

TCNJ keeper Jessica Clarke (Wayne, NJ/Wayne Valley) finished with a game-high seven saves.
