Box Score

Ewing, NJ... The College of New Jersey women's soccer team did its part in the semifinals of the New Jersey Athletic Conference Tournament as the Lions posted a 3-0 shutout over William Paterson University on Tuesday at Lions' Stadium.

The second-seeded Lions also got some help as fourth-seeded Richard Stockton College knocked off top-seeded Rowan University 1-0. That means TCNJ will host the conference championship game against the Ospreys on Friday, November 6 at a time to be determined.

The win bumped TCNJ's record to 16-2, while the loss put the third-seeded Pioneers at 10-7-3.

The Lions grabbed the lead 11:14 into the game as sophomore Annie McCarthy (Brick, NJ/Brick Memorial) headed in a corner kick off of the foot of freshman Amy Van Dyk (Wyckoff, NJ/Ramapo).

TCNJ doubled that advantage with only four minutes left before the half as freshman Allyson Anderson (Point Pleasant, NJ/Point Pleasant) rifled a shot into the upper far corner of the net for her fifth goal of the season. That goal was set up on an assist from Eva Gimello (Langhorne, PA/Neshaminy).

Anderson capped the scoring with 6:53 left in the game as she cashed in on assist from McCarthy making it a 3-0 final.

Senior goalkeeper Jessica Clarke (Wayne, NJ/Wayne Valley) needed to make only one save for her 11th shutout of the season.

In goal for the Pioneers, senior Meaghan Baker (Rockaway, NJ/Morris Knolls) finished with five saves, including a pair of diving stops.
