Glassboro, NJ... In a match-up of two of the favorites to come vie for the New Jersey Athletic Conference title in women's soccer, Rowan University gained the upper hand against The College of New Jersey as the Profs posted a 4-0 win over the Lions on Wednesday in Glassboro.
TCNJ, which entered the game ranked sixth in the latest National Soccer Coaches Association of America Division III poll, slipped to 7-1 overall and 1-1 in the conference. Rowan is ranked 23rd and improved to 5-1-1 and 2-0 in the NJAC.
The Profs led 1-0 at the half before scoring three times in the final 45 minutes of the game.
Senior keeper Jessica Clarke (Wayne, NJ/Wayne Valley) made three saves for the Lions.
The Lions remain on the road heading to Montclair State University on Sunday, September 27 for a 1 p.m. start against the Red Hawks.
