Lions drop 2-0 decision at Johns Hopkins

Baltimore, MD... Johns Hopkins University scored late in the opening half and again early in the second as the host Blue Jays got past The College of New Jersey women's soccer team 2-0 on Wednesday in Baltimore.

The loss was only the second of the season for the 18th-ranked Lions as they dipped to 12-2-1 on the season, while the 22nd-ranked Blue Jays improved to 12-3.

The hosts opened the scoring with 1:28 remaining in the opening half as Dana Stone headed in the game's first goal.

Fresh off of the intermission, the Blue Jays doubled their lead scoring 1:35 into the new frame with the two goals coming 3:03 apart.

Lion goalkeeper Kendra Griffith (Cherry Hill, NJ/Cherry Hill West) stood tall in goal as she collected a career-high seven saves.

TCNJ returns to New Jersey Athletic Conference play on Saturday, October 23 heading to New Jersey City University for a 1 p.m. start.
