Grantham, PA... The College of New Jersey saw its run through the NCAA Division III Women's Soccer Tournament come to end at the hands of a familiar opponent as the Lions fell to Johns Hopkins University 2-1 on Saturday.
The win puts the 12th-ranked Blue Jays (19-3-1) into the national semifinals against host and top-ranked Messiah College on Sunday at 6 p.m. in Grantham, PA. The Falcons (22-0) advanced with a 3-0 triumph over 16th-ranked Dickinson College (16-4-3).
The Lions completed yet another successful season with an 18-3-1 as they participated in the NCAA Tournament for the 20th straight year.
The Blue Jays were the last team to defeat TCNJ scoring a 2-0 win back on October 20 in Baltimore. Since that game, the Lions had won six straight contests outscoring the opposition 17-1 during that streak.
