Ewing, NJ … The College of New Jersey women's swimming and diving team completed a perfect regular season as they defeated Stevens Institute of Technology 146-116.
The #21 Lions (9-0) faced perhaps their toughest opponent this season in the #9 Ducks (3-1), and just one day removed from clinching their third straight conference title, turned back Stevens for their ninth straight dual meet victory.

Laura Pierce (Cherry Hill, NJ/Cherry Hill West) broke a school record that stood since 2003 posting a time of 23.60 in the 50-freestyle event. Aubrey Horvath previously held the record at 23.61. Pierce also placed first and registered NCAA B-cut times in the 100-free (51.75) and 100-butterfly in 57.28. Classmate
Danielle Dilts (Toms River, NJ/Toms River North) took fifth in the race with a time of 55.55.
Katie Morgan (Westfield, NJ/Westfield) celebrated Senior Day with a NCAA provisional time in the 200-yard breaststroke. She won the race with a time of 2:24.82, while fellow senior
Katie Zavoda (East Brunswick, NJ/East Brunswick) came in third registering a time of 2:33.88. Morgan also placed second behind sophomore
Kayleigh Shangle (Highland Park, NJ/Highland Park) in the 100 breast with a time of 1:07.53. Shangle topped the field with a finish of 1:06.86.
The final dual meet for
Margaret Molloy (Toms River, NJ/Toms River East) was laced with first-place finishes. Molloy tapped the wall first in the 1000-free (10:43.06), 500-free (5:08.35), and 200-free (1:55.00).
TCNJ will train over the next three weeks to prepare for the Metropolitan Conference Championships which begin February 18 at Rutgers University. The Lions have won three straight MET titles.
