TCNJ goes 2-1 at North/South Duals

Collegeville, PA...The College of New Jersey wrestling team won two of its three matches at the North/South Duals hosted by Ursinus College on Saturday.

The ninth-ranked Lions opened the day dropping a tough 18-16 match to the United States Merchant Marine Academy, before bouncing back to beat McDaniel College 28-15 and 20th-ranked Messiah College 27-16.

The team was also slated to face Trinity College, but that match was cancelled.

TCNJ is now 6-1 on the season.

The Lions had four wrestlers finish the day winning all three of their matches. Freshman Steve Godine (Whippany, NJ/Whippany Park) at 125, Dan Herr (Rockaway, NJ/Morris Knolls) at 133, Justin Bonitatis (Cherry Hill, NJ/Cherry Hill East) at 165, and Mike Denver (Bayville, NJ/Central Regional) at 184 each accomplished that feat.

TCNJ is back on the mat for a pair of dual meets on Tuesday as they head to Elizabethtown College to face the host Blue Jays and York (PA) College.
