Ewing, NJ...  The College of New Jersey women's soccer team won its seventh consecutive match defeating Rutgers University-Newark 5-0 on Saturday in New Jersey Athletic Conference play.

The 16th-ranked Lions (7-1, 5-0 NJAC) also registered their seventh straight shutout win as freshman Cristina Gracos (Sea Girt, NJ/Wall) has now gone 6:36:35 without allowing a goal.

Senior Brittany McGinley (Cranford, NJ/Cranford) netted a pair of first half goals to lead TCNJ's attack. She took a long feed from defensive back Allison Foy (Hamilton, NJ/Steinert), beat a Scarlet Raider defender, and slotted a left-footed shot past the goalkeeper to open the scoring at the 14:42 mark.

Just 41 seconds later, sophomore Sloan DePiero (Ramsey, NJ/Ramsey) collected a rebound and lofted a well-placed shot from 25 yards out to push the lead to 2-0. It was DePiero's first goal of the season.

McGinley tallied her sixth goal of the season less than four minutes later when she fired a shot from the top of the box. The ball slammed into the upper left-hand corner, and TCNJ suddenly had a three-goal lead.

The Lions maintained control of play through the second half. Junior Allyson Anderson (Point Pleasant, NJ/Point Pleasant) ran onto a through ball from classmate Jessica Davila (Middletown, NJ/Middletown) and deposited her fifth goal of the year.

Davila capped the scoring when she took a nice feed from freshman Christiana Nielsen (Easton, PA/Easton) and patiently pushed a winner into the back of the net for her third goal of 2011.

Junior Elizabeth Infante (West Orange, NJ/West Orange) got off three shots for Rutgers-Newark, while the Scarlet Raiders also received strong efforts from senior Liana Abreu (Newark, NJ/Science Park) and freshman Sarah Cunha (Hillside, NJ/Union Catholic). Freshman Victoria Nunez (Perth Amboy, NJ/Perth Amboy) had four saves in goal for Rutgers-Newark.

The Lions are back in action on Wednesday night when they host Gettysburg College in Lions' Stadium at 7:30 p.m.
