Glassboro, NJ... With the top seed in the upcoming New Jersey Athletic Conference on the line, Rowan University used a goal in the early stages of the second half to come away with a 2-1 win over The College of New Jersey women's soccer team on Wednesday in Glassboro.
Rowan earned the top seed in the tournament with a perfect 8-0 conference mark, while the 21st-ranked Lions secured the second seed finishing their NJAC schedule at 7-1. The loss knocked TCNJ to 10-3-2 overall.
By finishing second, the Lions earned a bye in the opening round of the tournament and will host a semifinal match-up on Tuesday, November 1 against an opponent yet to be determined. That game will be played at 7:30 p.m. in Lions' Stadium.
Rowan struck first scoring 17 minutes into the game and then protected that lead into the break.

Brittany McGinley (Cranford, NJ/Cranford) picked up a rebound off of a shot by sophomore
Katie Lindacher (Egg Harbor Twp., NJ/Egg Harbor Twp.) for her team-leading 11th goal of the season. That goal came 1:12 into the fresh half.
Rowan regained the lead 10 minutes later as Evynn Wright put the hosts in front 2-1.
TCNJ carried play for most of the game holding a 24-8 advantage in shots, including a 14-5 edge in the second half.
