Baltimore, MD…The College of New Jersey women's soccer team put together its best offensive half of the season scoring four times in the opening 45 minutes as the Lions posted a solid 5-1 win at Johns Hopkins University in a match-up of nationally-ranked teams on Wednesday.
The win extended TCNJ's winning streak to a modest five straight as they improved to 12-1 on the season. The Lions entered the game ranked 21
st in the latest National Soccer Coaches Association of America Division III poll. The loss dropped the 17
th-ranked Blue Jays to 9-3-1.
The hosts grabbed the early lead scoring the game's initial goal in the fourth minutes, but the TCNJ responded in a big way..

Katie Lindacher (Egg Harbor Twp., NJ/Egg Harbor Twp.) started the comeback taking a long pass from
Lori Genovesi (Pennington, NJ/Hopewell Valley) springing her on a breakaway. The speedy Lion forward took advantage of the chance netting her team-leading eighth goal of the season.
The Lions then went on a scoring spree during a span of 6:39 later in the half finding the back of net on three occasions. Senior
Allyson Anderson (Point Pleasant, NJ/Point Pleasant) scored the first of those with an unassisted goal before classmate
Amy Van Dyk (Wyckoff, NJ/Ramapo) ripped a long shot putting TCNJ in front 3-1.
Senior
Katie Landrigan (Rutherford, NJ/Rutherford) closed out the scoring in the half knocking in a loose ball on a scramble in front of the Blue Jay net. That goal sent the Lions into the half with a 4-1 lead, with those four goals being a season high for a half.
Landrigan accounted for the lone goal in the second half taking a pass from Lindacher on a 2-on-1 with that goal coming 15:33 into the period.
Sophomore goalie
Kendra Griffith (Cherry Hill, NJ/Cherry Hill West) made four saves earning her 30
th career victory.
TCNJ plays a key New Jersey Athletic Conference game on Saturday, October 13 hosting Kean University at TCNJ's Soccer Complex in a 1 p.m. start.
