Hackettstown, NJ… The College of New Jersey wrestling team closed out the regular season on Friday as the Lions fell to 23dr-ranked Centenary College 39-8.
TCNJ, which is ranked 30
th, finished the regular season with a record of 11-9 in dual meets, while the Cyclones imprioved to 7-5.
Senior
Brian Bollette (Newton, NJ/Kittatinny) recorded a 5-3 decision at 141 pounds, while senior
Mike Denver (Bayville, NJ/Central Regional) won by fall at 184 pounds. Denver's pin came in 6:53 as he improved to 29-2 on the season.
The Lions will get another look at the Cyclones when both teams compete at the 2012 Metropolitan Conference Championships hosted by Elizabethtown College on February 26. The winners from each of the 10 weight classes at that tournament plus several ”wild card” selections will then advance to the NCAA Division III Championships.
