Ewing, NJ…The College of New Jersey women's soccer team remained undefeated on the season as the Lions earned a 3-0 shutout over visiting FDU-Florham on Thursday.
The win put 17
th-ranked TCNJ at 5-0 on the season, while the Devils are at 0-5.
The Lions go the scoring started midway through the first half as
Allyson Anderson (Point Pleasant, NJ/Point Pleasant) knocked in her first goal of the season with
Korrie Harkins (Wenonah, NJ/Gloucester Catholic) collecting an assist. That goal came with 26:16 left in the half.
Senior
Jessica Davila (Middletown, NJ/Middletown) sent TCNJ into the intermission with a 2-0 as she made a nice spin move and directed a shot into the near corner of the net with 1:06 remaining.
Anderson accounted for the game's final goal in the second half dribbling the ball past the Devil keeper and scoring into the vacated net.
Sophomore goalies
Kendra Griffith (Cherry Hill, NJ/Cherry Hill West) and
Cristina Gacos (Sea Girt, NJ/Wall) combined on the shutout.
In goal for the Devils, freshman
Anna Bandly (Union, NJ/Union) finished with four saves.
TCNJ opens New Jersey Athletic Conference play on Saturday, September 15 playing at Ramapo College at 1 p.m., while the Devils are home on Saturday facing John Jay College of Criminal Justice.
