Oneonta, NY…Junior midfielder Sloan DePiero (Ramsey, NJ/Ramsey) netted the game's only goal with 4:04 remaining to lift The College of New Jersey women's soccer team past SUNY Oneonta in the opening round of the Oneonta Mayor's Cup on Saturday by the score of 1-0.
 
The goal by DePiero was her first of the season and came on an assist from senior Allyson Anderson (Point Pleasant, NJ/Point Pleasant).
 
The win kept the 20^th-ranked Lions perfect on the young season at 3-0, while the Red Dragons dipped to 1-2-1.
 
Sophomore goalie Kendra Griffith (Cherry Hill, NJ/Cherry Hill West) notched her third straight victory between the pipes, making three saves. With the shutout, she has extended her season-opening scoreless streak to 230:35. As a team, TCNJ's defense has not allowed a goal this season.
 
The Lions cap the tournament on Sunday, September 9 taking on Hartwick College at 2:30 p.m.
