Late goal gives TCNJ 1-1 tie at Kean

Union, NJ… The College of New Jersey women's soccer team held a decisive edge over Kean University in all of the key offensive categories, but had to use a late goal to come away with a 1-1 draw against the Cougars on Saturday.
 
The Lions outshot their hosts 33-6 and took 10 of the game's 11 corner kicks, but couldn't solve Kean's defense for that second and deciding goal.
 
TCNJ, ranked 10th in the latest National Soccer Coaches Association of America Division III poll, is now 12-1-1 overall and 5-1-1 in the New Jersey Athletic Conference, while Kean is 8-4-2 and 4-2-1 in the conference.
 
The Lions pulled even with 7:56 remaining as junior Jordan Downs (Brick, NJ/Brick) took a corner kick that senior Katie Lindacher (Egg Harbor Twp., NJ/Egg Harbor Twp.) knocked in for her fifth goal of the season.
 
In goal for the Lions, Kendra Griffith (Cherry Hill, NJ/Cherry Hill West) finished with a pair of saves.
 
Kean's KC Nunez finished with 13 saves.
 
The Lions play their final non-conference game of the season on Wednesday, October 23 heading to Stevens Institute of Technology for a 7 p.m. start.
