Box Score
Allentown, Pa … A pair of goals in the opening 14 minutes of play were too much to overcome as The College of New Jersey men's soccer team dropped a 2-1 decision at Muhlenberg College in non-conference action on Wednesday night.
Senior
Kevin Shaw (Brookside, NJ/West Morris Mendham) scored his 15
th goal of the season, but it was not enough as the Lions fell to 7-4-2 this season. The Mules improved to 7-5 with the victory.
Muhlenberg used a couple set plays to stake themselves to an early two-goal cushion.
Brendan McIntyre capitalized on a flick off a throw-in to put the Mules up 1-0 just over five minutes into the game.
Joe Adams made it a 2-0 lead when he knocked in restart from
Bryan Attanasio at the 13:51 mark.
Shaw drew the Lions within a goal when he converted penalty kick with 20:21 remaining in the contest. TCNJ was unable to get the equalizer, however, as they were held to a season-low seven shots in the game.
