Geneva, NY…The College of New Jersey's run through the NCAA Division III Women's Soccer Tournament came to an end as the Lions fell at William Smith College on Saturday by the score of 1-0.

The loss capped another very successful season for TCNJ as they finished the season with an 18-3-2 record, which included a New Jersey Athletic Conference title and a trip to the third round of the NCAA Tournament. This also marked the 23
rd straight year the Lions have qualified for the national tournament.

The third-ranked Herons have been on a tear since they met the Lions in the season opener with TCNJ winning that game 2-1. William Smith hasn't lost since, winning 20 straight games, and they haven't allowed a goal since late September, reeling off 13 straight shutouts.

The lone goal of the game came with 9:57 left in the opening half when Madeline Buckley put the hosts in front 1-0. The goal was the first allowed in any post-season game this fall for the Lions, a span covering 484:23.

Kendra Griffith (Cherry Hill, NJ/Cherry Hill West) finished with four saves.

The Lions earned a corner kick with 1:40 left in the first half, but the Lions attempt was immediately stifled as senior goalie Chelsea Dunay punched the ball away. TCNJ had one of its best scoring chances with 10 minutes left in the second half.
Katie Lindacher (Egg Harbor Twp., NJ/Egg Harbor Twp.) sent a shot on goal from the right side, but Dunay stepped up to make the save.
