Bethlehem, PA... The College of New Jersey women's basketball team outscored Moravian College 13-4 in overtime to pull out a 79-70 road win on Tuesday.

The Lions battled back from a five-point deficit in the second half and controlled the extra frame to move to 2-1 on the season. The loss dropped the Greyhounds to 1-1.

The teams were tied 66-66 at the end regulation and then were locked up at 68 less than a minute into overtime. Senior
Kylie O'Donnell (Magnolia, NJ/Sterling) drained a free throw to push the Lions ahead by a point. Classmate
Kelly Coughlin (Trumball, CT/Trumball) stretched the lead to four points on the following possession when she knocked down a three-point field goal to put TCNJ in front for good.

Moravian got two of those points back to make it a 72-70, but the Lions made 5-of-6 from the foul line in the final 1:36 to wrap up the win.

The Lions had five players score in double figures with senior
Jessica Goldbach (Edison, NJ/John P. Stevens) leading the way with a career-high 20 points and seven rebounds. O'Donnell chipped in with 14 points, while junior
Jess Lynch (Sandy Hook, CT/Newtown) set a career high herself with 12 points. Junior
Angelica Esposito (Lincroft, NJ/St. John Vianney) added 11 points and Coughlin had 10.

The Lions had a good start to the game as they nabbed an early 10-6 lead, before the Greyhounds eventually caught up and tied the game at 14-14.

TCNJ then put together a nice 10-0 run with Lynch starting that spurt with a pair of free throws. Esposito accounted for the final six points of the run with both a conventional three-point play and then knocking down a long-range three-pointer for a 24-14 lead.

Moravian countered with a run of their own as they tied the game up at 29-29 with just over five minutes left before the break. TCNJ forged ahead 34-31, but the hosts scored the final four points of the period for a 35-34 edge at the half.

Things were just as tight in the early stages of the second half as the teams were tied on three occasions, with the last of those being 46-46 with 13:50 left.

The Greyhounds later built their lead to five points before Goldbach erased a 56-51 deficit. She first made a lay-up and then sank a three-pointer to tie things up at 56-56.

The team would be tied a couple of more times in the closing minutes, with the final one being at 66-66 at the end of regulation.

Next up for the Lions is their home opener set for Saturday, November 22 when they host Montclair State University at 1 p.m. That game is also the New Jersey Athletic Conference opener for both teams.
