Williamstown, MA… The College of New Jersey wrestling team collected two more wins on Saturday as they finished with MET/NEWA Duals with a 2-1 record on Saturday. The event was hosted by Williams College.
 
The 25^th-ranked Lions started the day with a narrow 19-18 loss to 15^th-ranked Roger Williams University, and then bounced back with consecutive wins. The first of those came against the hosts by the score of 37-9 and the day ended with a 39-9 victory against Bridgewater State University.
 
Those wins put TCNJ's for the season at 7-5.
 
Freshman Kevin Corrigan (Beachwood, NJ/Toms River South) went a perfect 3-0 on the day at 125 pounds, while sophomore Dylan Thorsen (Belvidere, NJ/Belvidere) matched that mark taking the mat at both 149 and 165 pounds.
 
Senior Zach Zotollo (Paramus, NJ/Paramus) also had a perfect day at 174 winning both of his bouts. Adding to the success of the team with two wins each were Steven Schneider (Park Ridge, NJ/Park Ridge), Jimmy Gill (Smithtown, NJ/St. John the Baptist), Brian Broderick (Manahawkin, NJ/Southern Regional), and  Frank Crocco (Little Falls, NJ/Passiac Valley).
 
The Lions have a very quick turnaround as they take the mat at noon on Sunday at 19^th-ranked Springfield College.
 
TCNJ gearing up for big night on Friday
TCNJ has set its match against nine-ranked Wilkes University as "Alumni Night" on Friday, February 7 with the hopes of filling Packer Hall. The dual meet is set for a 7 p.m. start, but fans are encouraged to arrive early with the first 300 fans getting free t-shirts, as well as a number of former Lion grapplers being introduced before the starting line-ups.
