Ewing, NJ… Delaware Valley College won the final two weight classes break a tie match as the Aggies came away with a 27-18 win over The College of New Jersey wrestling team on Friday.

The teams were tied 18-18 following the 184-pound weight class, but the visitors broke the tie by winning the last two bouts. Both teams are nationally-ranked with Delaware Valley (10-6) holding down the 14^th spot, while the Lions (8-7) are 24^th.

Prior to the match, TCNJ honored its seven seniors for their hard work and dedication to the program. Recognized in a brief ceremony were Chris Benvenuto (Stanhope, NJ/Lenape Valley), Brian Broderick (Manahawkin, NJ/Southern Regional), Ricky Cordero (Livingston, NJ/Livingston), Justin DeAndrea (Dayton, NJ, South Brunswick), Jeff Furbish (Chatham, NJ/Chatham), John Palsi (Point Pleasant, NJ/Point Pleasant), Zach Zotollo (Paramus, NJ/Paramus).

Once the match started, the teams exchanged forfeits in the opening weight classes, but the hosts took a 9-6 lead after the 141-pound bout as Steve Schneider (Park Ridge, NJ/Park Ridge) held on for a 5-2 decision.

The Aggies responded with three straight wins to claim an 18-9 lead, but TCNJ got to within three points when Zotollo pinned his opponent at 174 in 5:53. That win kept Zotollo perfect in dual meets this season as he has won all 14 of his matches.

Broderick then joined TCNJ's 100-win club as he shutout his opponent 5-0 at 184 to tie the match at 18-18. The nation's fourth-ranked wrestler now boasts a career record of 100-17.

The Aggies then won the 197 and heavyweight bouts to secure the win.

The Lions cap off the regular season tomorrow, taking on another ranked opponent as they head to third-ranked Messiah College in a noon start.
