Box Score Baltimore, MD... The College of New Jersey women's soccer team suffered its first loss of the season as they fell 2-1 at Johns Hopkins University on Saturday in a match-up of nationally-ranked programs.

The loss dropped the 10
th-ranked Lions to 4-1 on the year, while the 18
th-ranked Blue Jays moved to 5-2.

TCNJ was the fourth opponent ranked in the top 20 that Johns Hopkins has faced this season and they have split those four games. The Blue Jays also edged Montclair State University, while beating Messiah College and Lynchburg College.

This was the first ranked opponent for the Lions.

The teams battled through a scoreless first half before combining for three goals in the second. The Blue Jays opened the scoring with Hannah Kronick scoring the first of her two goals 16:11 into the second half.

She then made it a 2-0 heading in a cross with 11:40 left for what turned out to be a key insurance goal.

The Lions continued to press and trimmed the margin in half when junior
Christina Roach (Cinnaminson, NJ/Cinnaminson) came up the near wing and hooked a long shot the eluded the Blue Jay keeper for her third goal of the season. That goal was assisted by sophomore
Christine Levering (Robbinsville, NJ/Robbinsville) and came with 1:46 remaining.
