George Nazario earned his 200
th career win at the helm of the program as his Lions opened the season with a 5-0 triumph over York (NY) College on Wednesday, September 2.

Nazario, who is in his 20
th season, now boasts a career mark of 200-142-41.

The Lions broke through in the latter stages of the opening period when junior
Mike Schiumo (Sparta, NJ/Sparta) tallied with 1:25 left before the break. He cashed in on sliding touch, pushing the ball past the keeper after taking a nice feed from senior
Greg Kaye (Morganville, NJ/Marlboro).

TCNJ tacked on four goals in the second frame with
Sean Etheridge (Oakland, NJ/Ramapo) making it a 2-0 game just over 10 minutes into the new period.

Junior
Nick Costelloe (Freehold, NJ/Freehold Township) and freshman
Nick Sample (New Egypt, NJ/New Egypt) then scored goals 4:45 apart quickly doubling the advantage to 4-0.

Sophomore
Michael Kassick (Moorestown, NJ/Moorestown) capped off the scoring with 7:39 left, knocking in a loose ball on a scramble in front of the Cardinal net.

In goal for the Lions, junior
Jake Nesteruk (Doylestown, PA/Central Bucks East) finished made one save as he shared the shutout with freshman
Joe Jingoli (Princeton, NJ/Pennington School).

Masamba Darme finished with eight saves.

The Lions have a busy weekend ahead as they compete in the Drew University Fall Festival. TCNJ takes on the College of Staten Island on Saturday, before facing Roanoke College the following day.
