Ewing, N.J. … The College of New Jersey women's soccer team hosted Montclair State University today and earned a 3-0 victory. The ninth ranked Lions now have an overall record of 12-0-1 and 7-0 in the NJAC.

Elizabeth Thoresen (Colts Neck, NJ/Red Bank Catholic) tallied her sixth goal of the season to open up scoring 15 minutes into the game.
 Christine Levering (Robbinsville, NJ/Robbinsville) had an initial shot that hit the crossbar and popped back into play. Thoresen picked up the rebound and shot the ball past the goalie, into the left side of the net.

TCNJ recorded five shots in the first half, while holding Montclair to zero shots.

Seven minutes into the second half, Levering added a goal of her own to make the score 2-0. She collected a high pass, moved around a defender and shot the ball to the left side of the goal.

Just a few minutes later, Thoresen netted her second goal of the game. Levering had a shot that the goalie dove and punched away, and then Thoresen gathered the rebound and sent the ball over the goalie into the middle of the net.

Jessica Weeder (Lebanon, NJ/North Hunterdon) got the start in net for TCNJ and made two saves throughout the contest.

The Lions are back on the pitch on Wednesday, October 19 when they welcome Stevens Institute of Technology to Lions Stadium. The game is slated for a 7:30 p.m. start.
