York, PA- The College of New Jersey wrestling team was defeated by #14 York College on Saturday by a final score of 23-10. 

Ryan Erwin (Milford, NJ/Delaware Valley) had the best day for the Lions as he dominated his 141 bout to take an 18-5 major decision victory.

The Lions took three straight victories to begin the match. At 125, Jacob Falleni (Stanhope, NJ/Lenape Valley Regional) picked up his first collegiate dual victory with a 5-4 decision. Jake Giordano (South Plainfield, NJ/South Plainfield) earned his first collegiate win, as he took a 4-2 decision victory in the 133 bout.

Dan Kilroy (Wayne, NJ/Wayne Hills) moved up a weight class to 184, and fell short in a hard fought bout against #9 ranked Frankie Krauss from York by decision 11-6. Kyle Cocozza (Farmingdale, NJ/Howell) battled  #7 ranked Stefanos Karpotinis in a tough heavyweight bout, and Karpotinis took an 11-5 decision.

Next up the Lions will return to York for the New Standard Invitational on December 2nd.
