Haverford, PA… The College of New Jersey Women's Soccer team completed play at the Haverford College Kickoff Tournament. The 12
th ranked Lions took the championship game with a 3-0 victory over the 20
th ranked Arcadia University.

With the win TCNJ improves to 2-0, while the Knights fall to 1-1.

The Lions looked strong in the first half peppering nine shots on Arcadia goalkeeper Brianna Williams. Williams was up to the task, keeping the game scoreless through the first 45 minutes. Williams finished the game with 17 saves.

TCNJ finally broke through early in the second half, when
Christine Levering (Robbinsville, NJ/Robbinsville) connected on a penalty kick to put the Lions up 1-0.

With just over seven minutes remaining, freshman
Julianna Bertolino (Medford, NJ/Shawnee) entered the game. Bertolino payed immediate dividends finding Levering who scored for the second time. Levering would complete the hat trick in the 87
th minute intercepting a pass intended for the Knights netminder and scoring to put TCNJ up 3-0.

For the second straight game sophomore
Jen McGrogan (Pompton Plains, NJ/Pequannock Twp.), senior
Kelly Wieczerzak (Wayne, NJ/Wayne Valley), and sophomore
Ally DeRiggi (East Hanover, NJ/Hanover Park) played every minute in front of sophomore goalie
Nicole DiPasquale (Paramus, NJ/Paramus). DiPasquale made six saves to earn her second straight shutout.

TCNJ outshot Arcadia 32 to nine.

The Lions will remain on the road for their next game as they match up with Ursinus College Saturday, September 9. Kickoff is scheduled for 1:00 PM.
