Ewing, NJ... In the 2018 Division III Softball Championships, The 22nd Ranked College of New Jersey Lions fell to Moravian College 4-2. With the defeat the Lions record drops to 31-10, while the 8th ranked Greyhounds improve to 33-6.

The Lions pushed across the first run in the game, as Lauren Conroy (Aberdeen, NJ/Matawan) laced a ground ball to shortstop, and pinch runner Kaitlin Kocinski (Belle Mead, NJ/Montgomery) beat the throw home to make it 1-0 Lions.

Starting pitcher Sam Platt (Cedar Grove, NJ/Mount Saint Dominic) was moving along as she did not allow any runs the first four innings. The Greyhounds were able to score a pair in the 5th inning to take the lead.

TCNJ answered with a run in the bottom of the 5th inning. Pinch hitter Danielle Carey (Maple Shade, NJ/Maple Shade) drove in pinch runner Francesca Pugliese (Langhonre, PA/Villa Joseph Marie) with a clutch RBI single up the middle. The Greyhounds took the lead with a run in the 6th, and added an insurance run in the 7th.
