WILKES BARRE, Pa. – The College of New Jersey wrestling team extended its winning streak to 13, winning a trio of victories at the John Reese duals, hosted by Wilkes College. The 13
th-ranked Lions opened the day with a 37-12 win over SUNY Oneonta. TCNJ followed with a 21-19 victory over 21
st-ranked Rochester Institute of Technology. The Lions closed out the day with a 43-0 shutout win over Lackawanna. The winning streak is now the longest in program history since a 14-game run in the 2010-11 season.

With the Lions win over RIT, head coach Joe Galante earned his 100
th career victory. Galante earns the milestone in his eighth season at the helm of the program.

In the opening match, TCNJ was dominant early in the match. The Lions won the first eight matches, building a 37-0 lead. Six wrestlers earned bonus points led by pins from
Robert Dinger at 141,
John Garda at 165, and
Dan Kilroy at 174.
Dan Ortega kicked off the match with a tech. fall at 125.
Jake Giordano and
Mark Gerstacker each won by major decision.

The Lions appeared to be on their way to another rout against RIT. Ortega kicked off the dual with a major decision and Giordano followed with an upset decision victory over 10
th-ranked Chris Horton. Dinger earned a tech fall after taking a 20-3 lead. When
Anthony Rua took to the mat unopposed, the Lions advantage extended to 18-0. The Tigers did not go away quietly. Ranked foes, Kaidon Winters and Dempsy King closed the gap to 18-10. Kilroy fought to a 6-3 decision win, to push the lead back to double digits. RIT would close out the match with three consecutive wins, but all three came by decision as TCNJ held on for the two point victory.

The Lions closed out the day with a shutout, earning a trio of pins in the match.

TCNJ returns to the mats Friday, Feb. 1 when the Lions host Centenary University (N.J.). The match will begin in Packer Hall at 7:30 p.m.
