EWING, N.J. – The College of New Jersey wrestling team took eight of 10 bouts Friday evening on their way to defeating York College (Pa.) 31-6. The 14
th-ranked Lions improved to 3-1 with the victory, while the Spartans fall to 2-1. The win is the first for TCNJ over York since the 2014-15 season.

The Lions fell behind at 125 where
Nick Denora suffered a narrow 7-5 defeat to Jared Kuhns.

Jake Giordano quickly put TCNJ back on top with a lead they would not give up at 133. The junior earned a tech. fall late in the third period to give the Lions a 5-3 advantage. At 141,
Robert Dinger came away a single point shy of a tech. fall of his own, taking a 19-5 major decision and scoring the bonus team point.

Nic Mele earned the start for the Lions at 149 and delivered with a 6-2 decision.
Matthew Sacco fought hard, but eventually fell to seventh-ranked Eric Hutchinson at 157, 14-8.

John Garda used a big third period where he scored four points to earn a 7-4 decision win at 165. At 174,
Joe McCarthy earned his fourth pin of the season winning in just 1:01.
Daniel Surich extended the Lions lead to 25-6 earning a 14-1 major decision at 184.

Thomas Anderson won 8-4 at 197 to keep his strong season going.
Thomas Marretta needed sudden victory, but earned a takedown in the extra session to secure the victory at heavyweight.
