EWING, N.J. – In the New Jersey Athletic Conference semifinal, The College of New Jersey women's soccer team defeated Rowan University, 2-0. With the win the Lions advance to the conference championship on Friday night, and improve to 15-1-1 on the season.
The Lions got on the board only four minutes into the game.
Amelia Curtis held off a challenge, and retained possession of the ball. From about 15 yards out, Curtis lofted a beautiful arcing shot that went in the top right corner of the net. The goal was the first of the year for Curtis.
The Lions controlled the first half, and held the Rowan offense to only two shots in the opening period. The Profs did not let the Lions take the game easily, and had a couple of scoring chances late in the second half.

nd minute, Casey Lubonski took a shot off of a free kick that sailed just over the crossbar. Arianna Durling had a look in the 84
th minute, yet she was denied by TCNJ goalkeeper
Nicole DiPasquale.
Julianna Bertolino iced the game with an impressive goal in the 87
th minute.
Taylor Nolan headed the ball to Bertolino, who had a breakaway. She fired a rocket, left-footed shot from 12 yards out that went into the top left corner of the net to put the Lions ahead 2-0.
The Lions out-shot the Profs 16-5 on the night, and had a 4-1 advantage in corner kicks.
TCNJ will host the conference championship game on Friday, Nov. 8. The Lions will take on Montclair State at 6:30 p.m
