EWING, N.J. – The College of New Jersey celebrated senior day Saturday with an 8-1 victory over Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. The 37
th-ranked Lions improved to 15-4 with the win, while the Engineers fell to 6-11.
The Lions swept doubles play with the senior duo of
Grace Minassian and
Alyssa Baldi leading the way. The pair took an 8-4 victory at number two.
Liya Davidov and
Katrine Luddy won 8-6 at number one, and
Audrey Chen and
Sarah Phung won 8-4 at number three.
Baldi concluded the final home match of her storied career with a singles victory at number four. Baldi fought through a first set defeat to win the second and third sets. Davidov, Chen, and
Navya Yemula each won in straight sets with Luddy winning in three sets.
The Lions end their regular season will come to an end when they travel to Haverford College on Friday, Apr. 26. Match time is 4 p.m.
