GALLOWAY, N.J. – The TCNJ women's basketball team used a big fourth quarter to defeat Stockton University on Wednesday night. The Lions prevailed by a final score of 64-48, and closed out the game with a 23-7 fourth quarter.

TCNJ (11-6, 8-2 NJAC) jumped out to a 9-0 lead in the first quarter. Jen Byrne recorded the first five points of the night by way of a three-pointer and a mid-range jumper. Shannon Devitt then scored the next four points with a lay-up and a pair of free throws to put the Lions up by nine.

The Ospreys battled back and pulled within 12-11 at the end of the opening stanza. Stockton carried that momentum over into the second quarter, and grabbed an 18-12 lead with 7:14 to play in the half. Right as the first half ended, Rachel Gazzola drilled a buzzer beating three-pointer to pull the Lions within 22-21.

In the third quarter, Stockton went up 34-27 with 5:29 left in the period, but the Lions came roaring back with a 10-0 run. Morgan Heller netted a jumper to pull the Lions within five, then Devitt scored from in close. Gazzola then drained back-to-back three-pointers gave the Lions a 39-37 lead.

Stockton recorded a bucket at the end of the third to tie it up 41-41, yet after that the game was all TCNJ.
