Conroy Selected as NJAC Player of the Week

5/10/2021 1:24:00 PM

PITMAN, N.J. – Lauren Conroy, the third baseman of the No. 16 TCNJ softball team, was chosen as NJAC Player of the Week, announced by the conference on Monday afternoon.

Conroy had a massive day at the plate in TCNJ's quarterfinal sweep over Rutgers-Camden. She hit a staggering .750 as she went 3-4 with a home run, a double, three RBIs, and three runs scored. Her slugging percentage was an impressive 1.750, while she also drew three walks for an on-base percentage of .857.

The senior infielder delivered a clutch home run in the game two victory. With the Lions holding a slim 1-0 lead in the top of the sixth, she belted a solo shot to right center to give TCNJ an insurance run and a 2-0 advantage. In game one, Conroy laced a two-RBI double to extend the Lions' lead to 5-0 in the second inning.

This season, Conroy is batting an even .400 with 20 RBIs and four home runs. She is TCNJ's leader in both homers and RBIs. Those marks also rank her fourth in home runs and fifth in RBIS in the NJAC. For her efforts, Conroy earned First Team All-NJAC honors last week.

Conroy and the Lions will face Stockton in the conference semifinals on May 11, with games one and two of the best-of-three series beginning at 2:00 p.m. Game three, if necessary, will be played on May 12 at 4:00 p.m. The whole series will take place at TCNJ's Dr. June Walker Field.
