PITMAN, N.J.– The NJAC announced its final weekly award winners for the 2021 softball season on Monday, and the TCNJ softball team was named to three honors.
Eliza Sweet was named NJAC Pitcher of the Week,
Allie Immerso was named NJAC Player of the Week, and
Julia Kinnally was selected as NJAC Rookie of the Week.
Sweet earns her third NJAC Pitcher of the Week honor of the season. She pitched to a 2-0 record and a 1.24 ERA in 17 innings of work. The 1.24 ERA was the third-highest in the regional. Sweet allowed only three earned runs, struck out 13 batters, and only walked one. She was named to the NCAA Regional's All-Tournament Team. Sweet finishes her career with a 31-9 record and a 2.14 ERA in 53 appearances.
Immerso was on fire at the plate and posted a .471 batting average as she went 8-17. She led all players in the regional with nine RBIs. That was three more than the second-place finisher, her teammate
Lauren Conroy. Immerso recorded her 100
th career hit in the victory over Moravian. She blasted a two-RBI triple to right center field in the second inning. Immerso finishes her career with a .366 batting average, 69 runs scored, and 50 RBIs.
Kinnally had a strong week end at the plate, also hitting .471 and going 8-17. Kinnally and Immerso tied for the second-best batting averages in the regional. The freshman shortstop was also named to the All-Tournament Team. This season, Kinnally hit .383 with 16 RBIs and 14 runs scored.
