JERSEY CITY, N.J. – The TCNJ men's tennis team saw its season come to a close on Sunday afternoon. The Lions fell 5-3 to NJCU in the NJAC Championship match. The Lions end the season 6-2, while the Gothic Knights improved to 6-1.

The match opened with doubles play and just as they did in the first match between the two teams,
Justin Wain and
Matthew Michibata won at number one. The Gothic Knights reciprocated with Nico Teynie and Toni Cabot winning again at number two. At third doubles, NJCU flipped the match from the first time around, picking up the victory and taking a 2-1 lead into singles play.

In singles play,
Rahul Panoli and
Adrian Tsui each won quickly to give TCNJ a 3-2 overall lead. The Gothic Knights won the first set on the remaining four courts and wins by Cabot and Alejandro Ley at numbers four and five gave NJCU the lead back with just the top two flights remaining. Michibata fought hard through the last point, but fell 4-6, 4-6 as the Gothic Knights clinched the championship.
