EWING, N.J – The No. 9 TCNJ women's soccer team returned to Lions Stadium for its first home match in 663 days on Friday night. The Lions defeated the 14
th-ranked Ducks of Stevens by a 4-0 tally.
TCNJ struck fast with a goal 1:45 into the match.
Amelia Curtis sent a through ball up the right side that was ran down by
Julia Obst. Obst fired one into the top right of the net to give TCNJ a 1-0 edge.
The Lions tacked on another in the 40
th minute when
Rachel Robichaud scored her first career goal.
Victoria D'Imperio sent a looping pass that found Robichaud in the center of the box. She tapped it over the keeper from eight yards out to make it a two-nil edge for the Lions.
A blistering shot from D'Imperio found the back of the net in the 60
th minute to give TCNJ a 3-0 lead. D'Imperio ripped one from 22 yards out that sailed into the top left corner of the net. The Lions tacked on another insurance goal with a
Gianna Coppola line drive in the 84
th minute.
TCNJ out-shot Stevens 20-4 and held a 7-2 lead in corner kicks.
Alexandra Panasuk earned the shutout in net for the Lions and tallied a pair of saves.
Next on the schedule for TCNJ is a match against NYU on Sunday, Sept. 12.
