No. 14 Women’s Soccer Overwhelms Farmingdale, 9-0

EWING, N.J. – Emma Pascarella recorded a hat trick and the No. 14 TCNJ women's soccer team scored five first-half goals as it defeated Farmingdale State, 9-0, on Wednesday afternoon at Lions Stadium. Six other Lions scored in the victory.

The goals came quickly, and Lindsay O'Keefe got things started with her sixth goal of the season on a nice feed from Gianna Coppola in the seventh minute. Her shot scraped the fingertips of FSU keeper Chloe Kensell to make it 1-0. Coppola got into the scoring act herself in the 14th minute, taking a feed from Pascarella to make it 2-0.

Pascarella was next on the scoring train, netting the next two goals. She scored in the 19th minute on a feed from Sophie Vieira on a low shot from the top of the 18-yard box, and she followed that in the 26th minute off a set piece by Ava Curtis.

Vieira rounded out the first half with an unassisted tally in the 32nd minute. She outran the FSU defense and beat Kensell to the far side to make it 5-0.

TCNJ outshot Farmingdale State, 17-2, in the first half on the way to a 33-3 advantage for the match.

Pascarella completed the hat trick in the 53rd minute on a beautiful shot from 25 yards out on the left side. She put the shot high into the right corner of the net.

Ella Van Dine scored on a nice chip past FSU backup keeper Lindsey Jolly after a free kick from near midfield by Allie O'Keefe. Five minutes later, Van Dine assisted on Cassidy DiSabato's goal in the 69th minute. That made it 8-0.

The Lions beat the horn for the ninth goal. Camryn Wolf beat Jolly as the buzzer sounded, courtesy of a pass from Sofia Alves.

Eight different Lions had multiple shots. Seven different players recorded an assist.

TCNJ returns to action on Saturday night at Penn State Berks. The game is scheduled for 7 p.m.
