PITMAN, N.J. – A pair of TCNJ standouts were honored as the NJAC released its weekly awards on Monday afternoon.
Julia Charest was named Defensive Player of the Week for women's lacrosse, and
Camryn Kitchin received Rookie of the Week recognition for softball.
Charest was terrific between the pipes in a pair of wins for the Lions over nationally ranked opponents. She racked up a career-high 12 saves in an 8-6 victory against Hamilton on Wednesday, then came back with nine stops as TCNJ handled No. 18 Roanoke by a 16-9 count on Saturday.
Kitchin swung a red-hot bat on the softball team's spring break trip to Myrtle Beach and Salisbury, posting a 0.632 batting average with 12 total hits. She is currently on a 6-game multi-hit streak. The freshman drove in 9 runs and hit for 5 extra base hits, two of which were home runs. She also scored 7 scored.
